Beyond the highlights.
The work JALCO's taken on, and the roles before it that built how JALCO delivers value.
JALCO is John Leenane's operating practice.
Embedded, hands-on, and deliberately not bound to a single title. John has built and led on both sides of the Atlantic, from Ireland to Silicon Valley: two companies founded, products carried from first release through to acquisition, and P&L ownership across six operating roles. What ties it together isn't a function: it's the leadership judgement to set the right strategy, agree the real objective, then do the work to get there alongside the team.
JALCO works solo by default, bringing in specialist collaborators as an engagement needs them — never a fixed team looking for a problem, always the right people for the objective in front of us.
What JALCO's taken on.
Engagements taken on under the JALCO name, embedded across operations, product and commercial strategy.
Worked with the founder pre-investment and through Seed plus Series A, totalling $19.6M. Built out operations and helped frame the early product roadmap.
Met the founder while working as mentor in the NDRC accelerator programme. Led the rebrand from Skueeze to Nory and mapped out the initial product roadmap.
Introduced by a VC board member. Worked directly with the CEO to reframe strategic vision, market positioning and product roadmap priorities. The company was subsequently acquired by Payroc.
Engaged as senior advisor to The Dock, Accenture's 150-person innovation unit. Ran a full diagnostic of its operating model and ways of working, presenting findings and recommendations to leadership.
The roles behind it.
The experience that shapes how JALCO delivers value.
Applying the same operating experience to Ireland's research and startup community: expert evaluation for UCD Nova and NUIG's Insight Centre for Data Analytics, and an Entrepreneur-in-Residence role with TUS University's New Frontiers programme.
